President's Message

Greetings fellow DC Metro Area Alumni, Friends and Students:

My name is Andrea Warren, graduate of the ‘World-Class’ Tennessee State University, and current Washington, DC Alumni Chapter President.

My experience at my alma mater was one that played a large part in shaping me into the alumna I am today. When I was a young girl, I always had dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur and engineer. I can proudly say that I have realized that dream, and TSU provided me with the tools I needed in my journey.

As someone who has joined the ranks with other alumni who hold our alma mater near and dear to our hearts, our dedication to ensuring the prosperity of TSU must be unwavering. It is our duties to assist current and prospective students in being able to benefit from an even greater experience that was afforded to us. The goal of the Washington, DC Alumni Chapter (WDC) is to provide ways for DC, Maryland, and Virginia-area TSU graduates to remain connected and informed locally and nationally, collaborate to recruit a new generation of students, and raise scholarship funds to assist them in their matriculation. The WDC is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization to engage and reclaim alumni.

As we move forward, I would hope that all DMV alumni of TSU would get involved with their chapter and make a difference by giving back to our beloved alma mater. Take pride in what you have accomplished personally and professionally by attending a WDC Chapter event or meeting. We would love to see you not only having left TSU to THINK and WORK, but also to SERVE. We need your participation to continue our legacy of over 60 years.

On behalf of the DC Chapter, I wish all students and graduates of TSU my very best. Please check our website for information and as always, you can contact the Executive Board members with your questions, concerns, and ideas. We look forward to continuing to support alumni, students, and the DMV community.

Forever Blue,
Andrea Warren, WDC Chapter President
