In Loving Memory of Mr. James R. Ealey Jr.

It is with great sorrow to inform you of the recent passing of our beloved alumnus, Mr. James R. Ealy Jr. Mr. Ealey's funeral/memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 12:00 noon at the Highway Christian Church of Christ located at 432 W. St., NW., Washington, DC. Please email the family if you plan to attend in person so they can monitor the attendance and not exceed capacity limits. Live streaming is also available.

Mr. Franklin Lee Hornbuckle

In Loving Memory of Mr. Franklin Lee Hornbuckle.

It is with great sorrow to inform you of the passing of one of our own, Mr. Franklin Hornbuckle. Mr. Hornbuckle made his transition on Wednesday, November 9th. On behalf of the Washington DC chapter, a $50.00 donation was made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Frank Hornbuckle.

We would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of fallen Tiger Bill Finch, Class of 1975. Services were held on December 27th at 10:00am at the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church. We will all miss a great human being with an awesome Big Blue spirit.

It is with a sadden heart to inform the WDC TSU Alumni Chapter that Mrs. Blanch Finch, the wife of Bill Finch, received her wings on Monday. April 4. 2018. As many of you know, Bill and Blanch were always at our Dinner Dances in the past years. The home going celebration for Mrs. Finch is as follows:

Clementine Merriweather, Notice of a fallen Tiger

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of one of our long time Washington, DC Chapter members,
Mrs Clementine Archie Merriweather.
Mrs. Merriweather, wife of Edward Merriweather, our long time Treasurer and past Chapter President, passed on Dec. 17, 2017. The funeral service was held on December 22, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Washington DC.
Clementine and Edward celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 8/24/17.
We send our deepest condolences to the entire Merriweather family.

2017 HBCU Awards

Shout out to Reginald A McDonald and Dr. S Keith Hargrove for leading the Aristocrat of Bands and the College of Engineering to achieving the Best Marching Band and Best STEM Program awards, respectively, at the 2017 HBCU Awards this past Friday! TSU was nominated in ten categories, total. The Annual HBCU Awards is hosted by the Thurgood Marshall Fund and the HBCU Digest. Congratulations gentlemen, and thank you for your service to our TSU! On behalf of our President, Andrea Warren, we would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of fallen Tiger, Herbert Eldridge '79 from Clarksville, TN. He worked with many alums in the area within the USDA including our own Hubert Hamer until retirement in Jan 2016.

On behalf of our President, Andrea Warren, we would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of fallen Tiger, Mrs. Angela Stephens, a long time devoted Tennessee State University alumnus and past President of the Washington, DC Alumni Chapter (1994-96). Mrs. Stephens is the wife of former National Alumni President and past DC Alumni Chapter President (1988-92), Mr. Leonard Stephens. Mrs. Stephens gained her wings on Monday, February 20th and we will all miss a great human being with an awesome Big Blue spirit.

Ruth Giles, a long time devoted TSU alumnus.

Ruth Giles, Notice of a fallen Tiger

On behalf of our President, Andrea Warren, we would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of fallen Tiger, Ruth Giles, a long time devoted Tennessee State University alumnus and a Charter member of the Washington, DC Alumni Chapter. Ruth was also a past President (1964). Ruth gained her wings on Monday, January 30th after a long illness. We were blessed to have her presence at the Chapter's 60th Anniversary in 2014.
